My Summertime Car is an open globe, car mechanic, and survival game in development by Finnish programmer Johannes Rojola (aka TopLessGun or RoyalJohnLove) of Amistech Games.[i] [2] It was released on Steam'southward Early Access program on Oct 24, 2022, and is expected to be out of early access in 2022.[iii]

A sequel, My Winter Auto, was announced on May 29, 2022.[6]

Reception [edit]

The game received generally positive reviews. Writing for Stone, Newspaper, Shotgun, Brendan Caldwell called the game "Funny, detailed and thoroughly confusing."[4] Nathan Grayson, in an article for Kotaku, chosen the game "Janky and weird every bit fuck, but fun."[ane] Both the Rock, Newspaper, Shotgun article and Eurogamer's Martin Robinson compared the game'southward difficulty bend to Dark Souls.[seven]

My Summer Car has besides received a number of awards and honors from the Finnish gaming community. At the 2022 Finnish Game Awards [fi], the game won the People's Choice Game of the Year 2022 "Kyöpelit" laurels.[8] In 2022, My Summer Car was inducted into the Finnish Museum of Games amid the museum's 100 game entries of that year.[9]
